About Us

Mission Statement: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

The Salvation Army provides assistance to those in need 365 days a year.
Founded by William Booth in 1865, The Salvation Army is an international organization and evangelical part of the universal Christian church that meets the physical and spiritual needs of people in more than 120 countries.

With nearly 7,700 centers of operation in almost every zip code in the United States, The Salvation Army assists well over 30 million individuals nationwide throughout the year ? that?s about one person every second ? more than 4.2 million of those during the holiday season alone. Most Salvation Army centers hold weekly worship services, usually on a Sunday. These meetings have a relaxed atmosphere, and can include hymn singing, Bible readings, members of the congregation talking about their Christian experiences, and presentations by worship or drama groups. Often there are weekday and evening recovery meetings, community activities, prayer groups, family gatherings, lunch groups, youth clubs and meetings to address seniors needs. Come see for yourself.

Your local Santa Maria Corp provides specialized support services to the homeless and low-income families like free nutritional foods, a free hot lunch and emergency financial assistance.
