The Santa Maria Philharmonic opens a dynamic new Season with ‘Dazzle & Destiny’ featuring the fantastic Symphony No. 5 by Tchaikovsky. In his second season with the SMPS, Maestro Nowak leads the full orchestra in this magnificent work.
He will be joined by violin soloist Jessica Guideri in two stunning works: The Lark Ascending, by Vaughan Williams, and Introduction and Allegro by Saint-Saens. Since Guideri's Carnegie Hall solo debut with the New York Youth Symphony, which James Oestreich of the New York Times called “a lovely account,” she has performed as soloist with orchestras including the Queens Symphony, Westchester Symphony, the Symphony Orchestra of Campinas in Brazil, and is scheduled to perform with the Santa Barbara Symphony this month. She has also given numerous solo recitals, including appearances at Lincoln Center and Steinway Hall in New York. She is currently concertmaster of the Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra.
The Santa Maria Philharmonic Society is a non-profit organization.
